J. K. Rowling, és una escriptora prolífica reconeguda per donar vida al personatge de fantasia juvenil més conegut de la història, Harry Potter, a través d’una col·lecció de novel·les publicada des de l'any 1997 i fins al 2007 que va arribar a superar els 500 milions d'exemplars venuts, la traducció a centenars d'idiomes i l'adaptació en pel·lícules.

A més a més, Rowling va publicar obres i històries relacionades amb el món de fantasia de Harry Potter com El Quidditch de totes les èpoques (2014), Bèsties fantàstiques i on trobar-les (2017) i Les rondalles del bard Gallard (2017), entre altres.
