Descripció
Published to accompany the major 2026 retrospective at the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Explores Horna's connection to Surrealism and her relationships with leading figures in Mexico's artistic circles. Examines lesser-known aspects of her career, including her influential work as a teacher and the role of photography in preserving memory and transforming the everyday. This volume traces the career of Hungarian-Mexican photographer Kati Horna, from her formative years in Europe and her work during the Spanish Civil War to her prolific career in Mexico. Through an extensive selection of photographs and specialist essays, the book explores Horna's artistic experimentation, social commitment and multifaceted creative practice, highlighting the significance of her work and her contribution to photography and Mexican art.
